Emily's FAST24

FAST24 · 20 November 2015
On November 20th I will be taking part in Warwick UNICEF on Campus' 24 hour sponsored fast where I will be raising money for UNICEF's Yemen crisis appeal.
Yemen is facing a major humanitarian crisis. Four years of unrest has left children in urgent need of food, water and medical supplies. Now, the situation is worsened by fierce fighting and heavy air strikes.
1.8 million children are currently at risk of becoming malnourished. Due to food shortages across the country, nutrition supplies are rapidly depleting and need to be replenished in most health facilities. UNICEF and partners have worked hard to ensure that almost 1,250 tonnes of life-saving supplies have been delivered to Yemen since March. But we need to reach more children in danger!
In the last 6 months 20 hospitals have been destroyed, 200,000 people now have no access to lifesaving medical care and more than 2,300 civilians have been killed since the war began in March.
This is such a prevalent issue that few people know of or acknowledge. Any donation, big or small, could take us that little bit closer to providing the aid that children desperately need in Yemen.
Thank you for reading my story.
Lots of love,
Emily x
