Story

It started with the odd 10k here and there, you know, nothing too serious, next thing I knew I was all caught up in it - the half marathon, dedicated training plans, sports physio, nutrition consultations, and now, can you believe, I have volunteered  for the grand spectacle that is the London Marathon 2010?!  Yup, that’s the entire thing – no halves about it.  The full, the whole, the complete, the total, the twenty six* miles, of non stop running!

No running expedition round the entire City of is lightly undertaken.. the aim of my pain is to raise money for “CRY –Cardiac Risk in the Young”.  My motivation to run for this charity comes from the sad loss of family friend Mark Gallacher from Sudden Death Syndrome in 2006, aged just 21. CRY work hard to prevent such tragedies by screening and conducting further research into young sudden cardiac death and offer bereavement support for those affected.

You can watch my progress at http://emmarathon.blogspot.com/; follow me at http://twitter.com/emmarathon or see my first training video at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwSG75C8vkw

This will be the biggest challenge I have ever faced, so please give what you can to this fantastic cause to make my pain worthwhile :-)  Many many many thanks, Emma xxx
