We fund research and raise awareness of MND to help anyone touched by MND.

Story

Alaistair Craggs has organised the event in conjunction with Boom Cycle  they have very kindly allowed me to take part.

In early 2019, their dear  friend Simon Brennan was diagnosed with progressive Motor Neurone Disease. He has thrown himself into raising money for the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation (https://www.myname5doddie.co.uk/), which raises funds for research into the disease and provides financial support for those suffering from MND. Some of Simon's previous fundraising efforts and national press coverage can be seen here:

Now, we have partnered with the great people at Boom Cycle (https://www.boomcycle.co.uk/) who will host a 24 hour spinathon starting at 7pm on the 18th October at their studio in Waterloo. We will have two sets of riders. The competitive teams of six will ride, in pairs and in two hour shifts, unbroken for 24 hours. The non-competitive teams can have a team of as many people as they like up to 24 people doing an hour each! Friends and family are most welcome to support at any time!

Boom Cycle have kindly offered to provide food and refreshments as well as shower facilities, sleeping space and towels. Plus they will host the afterparty once the ride is over!

About Boom Cycle:

Not just an indoor cycling studio, Boom Cycle engages riders mentally as well as physically through their unique experience. No numbers, no competition, just fun. With the lights low and a world-class sound system, riders are swept away and immersed into the ultimate 'party-on-a-bike' experience. A programme designed by former model and fitness extraordinaire Hilary Rowland and entrepreneur Robert Rowland with the vision to empower and to be anything but exclusive; there's no pretentiousness, just high fives all round. Their daily rides are led by expert motivators and have been adopted into the daily lifestyle of their Boom'ing community. Boom Cycle caters to all abilities but most importantly is here to encourage you to cut loose from your day and forget your stresses.

I will be part of the 24 hour spin organised I am seeing if I can raise as much in as little time for motor Neurone disease; I will be spending longer on a spin bike in one go than I have done to date: from 3am through to 5am tomorrow sat morning, there will be riders taking part through out the 24 hours I will be just one of them. All donations greatly appreciated my task has been made harder as last week I hurt my back but feel I hopefully can last the stint 🤞🏼All donations greatly appreciated to a worthy cause
