Story
In October 2015 I was admitted to Glan Clwyd Hospital after suffering a Stroke.
I was fortunate to receive wonderful care and treatment on Ward 14, and I was subsequently part of the Stroke Early Release Scheme, which enabled me to recover more rapidly in my own home, and release a valuable bed.
Recovering from a stroke is a lot about confidence and the approach of the Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board staff who looked after me helped greatly.
Being monitored beyond the hospital was hugely comforting and made me feel as if I was still a patient on Ward 14.
I owe so much to the staff who took such good care of me, and I'm determined to give something back.
I've had a beard for about 45 years now, but on Friday 29th April 2016 I'll be shaving it all off to raise money for Ward 14.
All donations received on this page will directly benefit the Ward 14 charity fund which is part of the North Wales NHS Charity, Awyr Las (Blue Sky).
