Story

Hello!  Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

On Jan 1st 2009 I will be doing the Loony Dook.  http://www.theloonydook.co.uk/

What on earth is it?

The Loony Dook: an estimated 600 people many in fancy dress, celebrate the New Year by plunging into the freezing waters of theForth.  It is anticipated as many as 3000 spectators may gather to witness the fantastic spectacle of all these "Loonys".  “Dook” is an old Scottish word meaning “dip”.  The Loony Dook has become an annual event and 2009 will be the 23rd Dook in succession.

I will be raising money for two epilepsy charities, Epilepsy Scotland and Epilepsy Action.  Both work hard to educate people to eradicate the prejudice and ignorance which surrounds epilepsy.  To visit my Epilepsy Scotland fundraising page, please go to www.justgiving.com/eclaireduncan.

My 7 year old son, Finlay, developed epilepsy in 2008.  Although he has very mild, easy-to-control epilepsy the biggest impact for us was the reaction and occasional panic of those responsible for his out-of-school-care and education.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me.  If you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
