Asda Foundation Leeds Half Marathon 2021 · 5 September 2021 ·

Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

I've decided to do this as i would like to raise awareness and raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association as the money that is raised can go a long way towards care and funding research for a cure.

My partners father, Glenn, was diagnosed with MND a few years ago. Like me, Glenn loves sport, played football, rugby, and cycled. I find it hard to imagine my life without playing sport but yet Glenn remains positive. Glenn and I share a passion for working with young people, Glenn worked in Pupil Referral Units past diagnosis and continues to give me advice for my career - I will be running this for Glenn!

The recent diagnosis of MND for Rob Burrow (Leeds Rhinos Rugby League) has also inspired me to do something.

Leeds half will be on the 10th of May 2020. Maybe next year i'll grow a pair and do a full marathon but this will do for now......
