James Barnsley's 2013 Challenge (CRUK)
Fundraising for Cancer Research UK
Fundraising for Cancer Research UK
My New Year’s resolution? I’m giving up alcohol. initially this was just for January, but having lost my Aunt on the 8th January 2013, I have decided to expand my challenge to the whole year and take on some endurance events to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
I’m becoming a Dryathlete. All through 2013 I’m not going to touch alcohol. So instead of buying me a drink, I’d like you to donate. Every pound helps Cancer Research UK bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. I’ll be donating my drinking money and if I happen to slip off the wagon, I’ll chuck in an extra £15 to make up for it. Cheers.
The Dryathlete’s Oath I promise that I shall take part in Dryathlon™, respecting and abiding by the rules which govern it, committing myself to a year without alcohol, in the true spirit of do-gooding, for the glory of Dryathletes and the honour of Cancer Research UK.
On top of the Dryathlete challenge, I am taking part in the Bupa Great North Run, Robin Hood Half Marathon and the Mens Health Survival of the Fittest Nottingham event. I hope that with these and events, and the possibility of a few more I can raise over £500 for Cancer Research UK.
PS if I hit the £500 target I will arrange to have my back and chest waxed just for the fun of it, with a few photographs to prove it :)
