Virgin London Marathon 2011 · 17 April 2011 ·
Hello!
I'm running the 2011 Virgin London Marathon in aid of the St. John's Ambulance, and would be very grateful for your donation to help me reach my target.
I've always wanted to run the marathon and thought, well, I'm not getting any younger, better pull my finger out. I've been training since July 2010. I'll try to keep a blog updated here.
Oh, and my wife and I had our first child on 9th September - which keeps things interesting!
To cross the line and see my wife and newborn baby waiting for me would be a dream come true. I'm hoping that thought will keep me running during those cold and wet winter months.
I chose to run for St. John's ambulance as I'm a first aider and think they are a fantastic organisation. They provide training to 800,000 people a year, which helps save lives every day. They make a real contribution to our community and their volunteers work selflessly at so many sporting and other events.
I'm sure most people I know have benefitted from their support at some stage, be it for a wasp sting, cut finger or possibly something more serious.
I want to raise £1500 to help them carry on the work they do. Any donation you can make would be a great help.
Thankyou!
Donal.
