Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
To try and cut a long story short! One Saturday morning in April last year I was reminded it was registration day for the London Marathon 2014, around half a hour before closing I thought I would give it a go, after all, I would never get a place on my first attempt! The day of registration my parents were in Australia visiting my sister, Karen, further to mum being given the all clear of Cancer (for the second time). Naturally I registered for the Cancer related charities. All too soon after returning home mum's cancer has returned and in August last year Karen is diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer. The very day Karen is having a mastectomy we have a follow up appointment with mum when we are told there is nothing else that can be done for her. Mum lost her battle to the wretched disease Valentines Day, Karen, well after having had intensive chemotherapy followed immediately by radiotherapy awaits her first follow up appointment on May 14th. Me. I'm running (& walking) the London Marathon and raising some money along the way. Lets face it, me being a participant in the marathon sure as heck beats being a spectator to Cancer. I've delayed setting this page up and now I know why, writing this is really painful.
