Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After years of promising myself (and others!) to undertake a fundraising event, I have finally got around to it and I have entered the Great Swim in Manchester. The event is a 1 mile (or 64 lengths of your average size (25m) pool), swim across Salford Quays in Manchester. Being an open water swim there are no walls or lane ropes to cling onto as I try to catch my breath! Please dont expect a race winning time, for me, this is about finishing!
Having thought for a while about which charity to support, I could find no more deserving cause than The Noah's Ark Appeal. Their current campaign "Splish Splash Splosh" will fund a hydrotherapy pool at the Children's Hospital for Wales. Currently patients are treated in the adult hydrotherapy pool which is only available for one hour per week, meaning that up to 500 children lose out on vital treatment they need every year. They need £500,000 to buy a purpose built pool complete with changing rooms, shower facilities and hoists.
It is not lost on me that austerity is ever present and that times are tough for all. Everything and anything that you can give will be enormously appreciated by the children who will benefit so enormously from this great cause. So please give whatever you can.
Thanks very much to you all.
