Fundraising for North West Air Ambulance
We have done it !!! We arrived at 2 pm Sat. 2nd Aug (my youngest son Jason's 37th brithday)
My challange was to cycle from my hometown Nelson to Bordeaux (France) and that is approximately 720miles. One of reasons behind this is for my oldest friend Brian. We cycled together in our youth and he was battling cancer. I asked him to suggest a charity for my sponsorship and he chose a very worth cause, North West Air Ambulance. Brian unfortunately died before I started my second stage. Since his recent death I feel more dedicated to raise further money in his memory. I have cycled the first stage Nelson to Fleet (Hampshire) on my own, with the support of my wife Pauline who drove our motorhome for the night stops. I then returned home for my son Darrell's 40th brithday, returning to Fleet the following week to join my French son in law Bertie, who is doing this sponsored ride to his home town of Bordeaux for his own charity (the local school attended by his son, Hugo.) I would be grateful to anyone who would contribute to my efforts for this worthy cause as North West Air Ambulance do not receive any money from the government and save many lives in the community. Please contribute on line www.justgiving.com/davidlowden or cheque payable to N W A A to 2 Ronbury Close Barrowford Nelson BB9 6SD Thank you
