Marie Curie is here for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, we’re with you to the end. We bring 75 years of experience and leading research to the care we give you at home, in our hospices and over the phone.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Marie Curie Hospices help terminally ill patients.  They provided 24 hr support and nursing for my Dad at Solihull Hospice during the last 3 weeks of his struggle against cancer.  This was a great benefit for him and I feel I want to help their good work.

So I have set myself the challenge.  On Sunday 9th November (12 months after his death) I will ride around the CEGB power stations and sites my Dad worked at after he moved down to the Midlands in ‘63: Castle Donnington, Willington, Drakelow, Hams Hall and CEGB HQ Shirley.  I have a fund raising target of £300, which will provide 24hrs of care for a terminally ill patient at the hospice.

This will be a 125 mile effort in November, with the shortening days and the usual bad weather, I'm expecting a bit of a "sufferfest"!

Please donate whatever you can or join me for the challenge - see here for full details:
