My daughter Georgia has Rett Syndrome, Rett Syndrome is a neurological genetic condition affecting 1 in 10,000 girls (and some very rare boys). Rett Syndrome leaves Georgia unable to walk, talk or use her hands, there is the possibility she will get scoliosis, have epileptic fits, develop breathing difficulties, require feeding through a tube which we are thankful she doesn't currently have. Reverse Rett raise money to fund research into a cure and treatments for symptoms. They are currently supporting a clinical trial at Kings College London for a drug to help with the respiratory issues a lot of the girls face. There is also hope there will be a gene therapy clinical trial in the next year or two leading to a cure.
On May 20th 2018 Trevor Jones and myself are taking on the half marathon of the Manchester great run. Georgia is also taking part as we will be pushing her round in her wheelchair.
