Story
Our close friend's Dad and general legend, Pete Dowen, was only a month into his retirement when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He sadly passed away in April 2014 after a long battle with the disease. Pete's family set up Pete's Pancreas Project (through Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Charity) to raise money to provide research into pancreatic cancer, the fourth most common cancer in the UK.
This is a charity that is close to our hearts and we have decided to undertake a number of challenges to raise money for this great cause. We did the Tour de Yorkshire and Coast 2 Coast in a day earlier this year, and we'll be running the Great North Run in September. However, we are going to cycle to Newcastle (over 100 miles) the day before, just to make sure our legs are in no condition for a half marathon. We'd appreciate any donations people could make to support our efforts.
Thanks Dave Alderson and Dave Dumbleton
