Hello, and welcome to my fundraising page. It's so very good to see you.
As you may be aware, some colleagues and I are participating in the Borneo Summit to Sea Challenge in aid of The Prince's Trust. In October, we will head out to Borneo, where we will trek from sea level to the 4,095m summit of Mount Kinabalu, the highest mountain in South East Asia. From there, we will descend by foot and mountain bike before trekking, cycling and white water rafting through the jungle to the South China Sea. All told, we will spend six days pushing ourselves to our physical limits, racing against teams from all over the UK.
This does rather beg the question - why? Well, our objective as a team is to raise £30,000 for The Prince's Trust. Here comes the social science bit:
Around one in five young people in the UK are not in work, education or training, and the Trust seeks to address this by giving practical and financial support to the young people who need it most. They help develop key skills, confidence and motivation, enabling young people to move into work, education or training.
In the current economic environment, the good work of The Prince's Trust clearly needs more support than ever. Of course, this is also the time when charitable donations start to fall off, which is what makes your help even more important. Besides pages like this one, we will be holding numerous fundraising events over the summer, and if you would like to hear more about these, please let me know.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Prince's Trust gets your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
