Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
At the end of 2014 I reached the grand age of 50 and to celebrate this I wanted to do something that would challenge me. I have entered the Lakeland 50 which is a 50 mile ultra race in the Lake District with approximately 3100m of assents to deal with. The course is not marked so I will have to navigate myself. There is a time limit of 24 hours to complete the course which means running through the night. I'm a keen runner but have not run a marathon since I was 20, so to double this distance will be a huge challenge, mentally & physically.
I have chosen to fund raise for the RNLI.
I volunteer for the charity as a Deputy Launch Authority for Cowes Lifeboat Station and my duties are dispatching the brave crews to various rescues.
My day job is a Berthing Master for Cowes Harbour Authority, dealing with all the marine visitors, so marine safety is close to my heart.
