Darren's Beardathon
Ladies and Gentlemen, Girls and Boys, Pogonophobics the world over. Thanks for visiting my beardshaving website!
For those who don't know me I've been growing my furry face friend for some time now and we've become quite attached. I like to stroke it, play with it and occasionally save bits of food in it for later. It's come to my attention however, that some people are not as fond of it as I am. So it occurred to me that I could turn a hairy situation into a charity donation, and please a lot of people too by revealing my handsome young face.
On the 28th of March I will be sending my chin monkey to beard heaven. For those so inclined I will be posting a short video of my ordeal on youtube and I will even hand knit a few souvenir egg cosies.
The charity I've chosen to support is The Shooting Star Children's Hospice in Hampton. It is purely run on donations and needs £3 million a year to run, and I think it is a very worthwhile cause. For all you need to know please visit: http://www.shootingstar.org.uk/
Donating through this site is very simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Shooting Star Children's Hospice will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. Any pledges that are made to be paid in cash will also benefit from the extra 28% when I pay it directly to Shooting Star.
For those of you whose surnames I might not know from work, the .org or .net, please put your nickname or workplace in the comments section so I know who to thank.
Thankyou all very much for your support.
Darren.

Well the deed has been done folks! I had a laugh doing it and the total raised so far has made it very worthwhile. I've added pictures to the flickr account attached (click on the small pictures under the main picture) and will add the video as soon as it's been sorted out and edited. Thank you all so much for your generosity. Come back soon to have a laugh. Darren.
