Good friends!
The life of man is nasty, brutish and short. So let's dance and enjoy ourselves while we can. Rather than abandon ourselves to the world-weariness of the sages, let's pull some big shapes, rotate our rumps and strut like stunned peacocks to a cheese-pop soundtrack. And my good sirs and madames, if we raise some money for a good cause, then what fiend, vagabond, brigand, coxcomb, etc., has rights to judge us?
Now I need your money for a worthy cause: on the 27th February I will be dancing for 8 bleedin' hours to raise money for Headway East London, a unique service for adults with acquired brain injuries in inner, north and east London. Headway provides a vital lifeline and community space through it's day-centre, as well as a variety of unfunded support services like family support, counselling, outreach, yoga, cranio-sacral therapy, the Discovery project and of course the Younger Persons Network, which I organise here. With your kind spondoolies, enthusiasm and bonhomie we can continue to run these services against the grain of recession and public spending cuts. Dance or donate, either way make a difference.
I dance like a paid gibbon, you donate money for a wonderful cause, simples! I even promise to wear a velveteen smoking jacket, yeti feet and a plastic popeye pipe for your curiosity and wonder. Spiffing!
For more information have a butcher's at www.headwayeastlondon.org, you lovely folk.
