Story
Cheers for taking the time to visit my VSO JustGiving page.
I'm living in Guyana for just over two years, working as an advisor in Special Needs for region 6, the area close to the Suriname border. VSO arranges placements for skilled professionals and me in countries that have, generally speaking, been screwed over by international trade agreements and now lose all of their skilled workforce to richer countries like us, causing a vast need for knowledge in education and many other fields that volunteers like myself attempt to fill.
VSO needs a certain level of donations to ensure the government funding it needs to carry out its work, and has been hit hard by the cost of trying to undo some of the mess we've made of the war on terror, so all donations are vital.
As an incentive, the more donations I get, the more likely I am to keep properly in touch:
total less than £200 = a cursory blog update every six months
£200 - £400 = regular blogs and the occasional email on or soon after special occasions
£400-£800 = regular blogs with photos, frequent emails and one postcard to close family
£800 plus and I might write a real life snail mail letter or two
So think of my poor family who would love nothing more than a real life letter, and give generously!
