Story
The event
After the success of the previous charity event, where Stephen and I walked the extent of the Cleveland Way (110 miles) in a week, raising £315 for charity, we have decided to undertake a new challenge!
On Friday 20th June till Sunday 22nd, me and 2 friends are cycling the Way of the Roses to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
The Way of the Roses is a 170 mile route running from Morecambe in the West to Bridlington on the East Coast.
Our first day will take us on a 60mile ride into Pateley Bridge where we will stay the night. On the second day we aim to reach Pocklington (near York) to refresh ourselves for a final third ride into Bridlington on the Sunday.
We have organized a support car to assist us through this journey, driven by the wonderful Lewis. He will be carrying our provisions that aren't necessary to have on our person, so we can be as light and efficient as possible.
The Charity
Without a doubt, cancer (in various forms) has had a huge impact on close friends and family more so than any other life threatening illness combined. It is only fair to determine that this charity needs our urgent attention to work towards a cure.
Hopefully this ride can both raise awareness and funds for this noble cause and make a small step to help us find a cure to this horrible illness!
Any donation, however small, is enormously appreciated!
