Cycle to the Med
Fundraising for River of Life, Uganda
Story
Hey! Thanks for visiting us.
Following on from the amazing On Yer Bike 4 River of Life we two (not so super fit) humble cycling enthusiasts want to take our bikes all the way to the sun and sand of the Med! We are raising money for a small but very special project. River of Life Uganda are in the process of building a new and improved housing development for the White Eagle Boys to live in. The last push is for £10,000!. The project looks after 51 orphaned, abandoned or vulnerable children, many of whom have been living on the streets. They need to raise a total of £40k to complete the job - You can check out the charity and their work at http://www.riveroflifeuganda.org/

Our schedule, at this point anyway:
Aug 12 Ferry Weymouth > St. Malo; Train St.Malo > Nantes
Aug 13 - Aug 16: Nantes > Orleans 250 miles of beautiful Loire Valley countryside.
Aug 17: Train Orleans > Lyon
Aug 18- Aug 22: Lyon > Marseille 350miles nipping in between Central Massif and The Alps towards the Med Sea.
Then fly home!
SATURDAY AUGUST 10TH Ok guys, well the fun has started already. After pestering the bike shop that is soupping-up my ride for three weeks(!!!) i finally picked it up today. A-Wahoo! Turns out the trains + bikes in france generally = issues, so looks like there'll be a lot more miles clocked up on our bikes than before! ('All the more reason to sponsor them if I haven't already'... I hear you say.) We are off on monday, I'll post some more info when we are on the road if possible. Thanks for your support!
