Story
Dear family, friends
On May the 4th, 2013 James Dowthwaite, Andy Wall, Marcus Hoyle, Neil Ritchie, Will Willis, Michael Garlick, Paul Whittam and Peter Bardell (aided by Daniel Hall and Natalie Hall in a support vehicle) will be taking on the arduous task of cycling from London to Paris in 3 days, covering around 85 miles a day.
Yes, It may only be 3 days, but given that their usual exercise consists of lifting pints and walking round pool tables, the whole event isn’t going to be easy. So to motivate them, they want to bring back as much money as they can for a charity that is close to their hearts, The Manchester Adult Cystic Fybrosis Centre.
Sadly, in 2010, a lovely friend by the name of Liz Gardner passed away, shortly after her 30 birthday. She had Cystic Fybrosis. A condition that meant she battled through everyday. But, a person that never once showed that any day was a challenge.
Cystic fibrosis is one of the most common life-threatening genetic disorders, affecting around 8,500 people in the UK. Each week in the UK three young lives are lost to CF. The disease primarily affects the lungs, with repeated chest infections and breathlessness, but also has important effects on nutrition, diabetes, bones and joints. The many different organs that can be affected mean that optimal CF care requires input from a range of different specialists and guess what…that costs money.
Which is where you can help. Any donation will be gratefully received. And all proceeds will go directly to the wards that helped the wonderful Liz Gardner at the Wythenshaw Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre.

Thank you so much for your support.
