Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My name is Dan and I am going to Rwanda in October 2010 for CRICKET WITHOUT BOUNDARIES. I was born with a passion for sport and a visual impairment. I was registered blind and given a white stick while at primary school, but I went on to win my first international cap at the age of 17 playing for the England blind cricket team.

That was five years ago. I now have 23 more international caps (right now I am in Worcester playing against the visiting India team) and am studying sport at university. I love coaching and I'm very excited to be selected to go to Rwanda to pass on my skills to able bodied youngsters.

Cricket Without Boundaries was set up five years ago to build and empower local communities in the developing world through coaching children in cricket and teaching adults how to coach. It also uses cricket to spread HIV/AIDS awareness, reaching out to some of the most vulnerable.

About the charity

Cricket Without Boundaries is dedicated to helping, educating and developing local communities around the world through the spread and growth of cricket. Crucially, CWB also uses cricket as a tool in the fight against AIDS. CWB’s training sessions have at their heart discussion about the disease in terms of prevention, treatment and equality of treatment for those with and without the disease.
