Story

Somehow not put off by Tough Guy 2007 The Year of the Tiger, a few CSW individuals of dubious sanity are attempting a double whammy along with some new recruits who surely can't yet know what they have let themselves in for!

The CSW Tough Guy 2008 team: CHOX Away! Part Deux

Help them in their pledge to raise funds for Oxford's Children's Hospital Campaign (CHOX).

It has taken months of training to prepare for Tough Guy 2008, and this isn't surprising when you take a look at what the Tough Guy event involves: below is a quick recap, for further information visit www.toughguy.co.uk.

The Start · Country Miles ·  Slalomn ·  Ghurka GN ·  The Tiger · Colditz ·  The Behemoth ·  Firey Holes ·  Tyre Crawl ·  The Swamp ·  Vietcong Tunnels ·  Paradise Climb · Underwater Tunnel · Berlin Wall ·  The Lake ·  Dans Deceiver ·  Dragon Pools ·  Bailey Bridge ·  Stalag Escape ·  Tyre Torture ·  Anaconda ·  The Hill ·  The Finish

Mud, sweat & ice - Tough Guy is an event like no other, it takes over 3 hours and consists of a grueling 8 mile cross country course (Country Miles) followed by a torturous 'SAS style' assault course, referred to as 'The Killing Fields', involving deep icy water, great heights, barbed wire, firey obstacles and even electrocution!! Not to mention the very real risk of hyperthermia. Out of approximately 5000-6000 starters, 1 in 5 are never seen at the finish line!

Help the team get through this ordeal by sponsoring them generously. How much would YOU pay NOT to do Tough Guy?

Think how glad will you be on the morning of Sunday 27th January when you look out the window at the ice on your car, and you can see your breath in the air - that you won't be out there getting fully submerged in freezing cold water and scraping your elbows commando crawling beneath barbed wire and much much worse.

The Oxford Children's Hospital Campaign is an extremely worthwhile cause, providing purpose-built family-friendly facilities for inpatient and outpatient children's services under one roof for the very first time.

The healthcare needs of children are very different to those of adults: children need looking after in a way that takes account of the differences in their physical and emotional maturity. Get it wrong with children's care and the bad experience may affect development and last a life-time. Get it right - by creating a truly child-friendly environment - and all the evidence shows that children recover more quickly.

CSW Group Ltd has pledged to raise £45,000 to sponsor a Resource Room on the surgical floor of the new Oxford Children’s Hospital. So, as well as surviving the event the team is aiming to raise at least £5000 towards this target.
