We are aiming to raise £2,500 to create a new practice net for our village team.

The club has been successfully offering coaching to children for a number of years, starting with ECB junior programmes and progressing to two junior age group teams playing competitive cricket.

This has however highlighted that we need to improve our facilities. With only a single practice net, and limited pitches there is simply not enough space to effectively coach a large group. The club has successfully been able to build a new artificial wicket this year, but we need to raise the money to build a second net.

As well as the new practice batting surface, we will be replacing the bowling run up to the existing net, with a wider and longer strip with proper drainage to prevent it getting slippy. We will also be purchasing a wheeled batting cage for the new net that can also be deployed out onto the pitch, allowing for match practices, even with smaller groups.
