Story

Whitmore Reans Welfare Centre (WRWC) has been delivering Advice and Support services to the people of Whitmore Reans and other areas of Wolverhampton since 2004.

The Centre is run, and services provided, completely by volunteers and we receive no external funding and have relied entirely on donations for the past few years to cover our day to day running costs.

Most of those donations come from the people we help, who donate as much as they are able when they visit our office for help and advice.

During the Covid Pandemic, those seeking our help and advice have been unable to do that face to face, but we have managed to continue to deliver services remotely by telephone and electronic contact.

This way of continuing to help people, who live in one of the most deprived areas of Wolverhampton, has meant that our users have been unable to donate to WRWC in the usual manner through our collection box in our office reception area.

Our funds have therefore, been reduced to a level where we will shortly no longer be able to keep our service open.

As Lockdown is lifted, the Centre needs to cover rent of £3,600, as well as telephones, heating, lighting and electricity, as well as minimal maintenance and repair of equipment, so that we can be ready to return to helping people face to face at our premises in Whitmore Reans. .
