Story
The Wedmore First School PTA are desperately trying to raise funds for the urgent repairs that are needed for the on site community swimming pool to re-open this Summer. The pool is an incredibly valuable asset to the school who utilise it during the warmer months for swimming lessons for children from reception class to year 4. Additionally the pool is also a community asset, open to the public during the summer holidays who can use it for a very small fee, enabling access to swimming for the entire community, some of whom may not be able to travel to alternative facilities outside of the village. It is very much a social space in the Summer, particularly for the local children, it is utilised by the Wedmore out of school 'Holiday club' and is also bookable for birthday parties. The pool in its current state is not safe to be used and if the repairs are not funded, there is a risk it will not open this year, and ongoing until it is fixed. In addition to the urgent repairs improvements to the facilities are also very much needed including seating and shading areas and pool float devices which are on their last legs! Please, please help us by donating all you can spare to retain this wonderful community asset in our village!

The children are so lucky to have a pool at their school and it would be such a shame to loose it.
