Iʼve raised £3,000 to help protect our village by raising funds to employ a planning consultant to represent us at the planning appeal to ensure we have a voice.

Story
Protect our village, Milford on sea. Help us beat the Developers!
We are not against building houses in our village, we want to make sure they are the right houses in the right place. We are campaigning to sustain our rural community for future generations. We are opposing a planning application from a local developer to build 42 houses on School Lane. This Greenbelt land was declassified to build affordable homes but the current application offers only a token ammount.
Protect our special community!
Other reasons why we are fighting:
•The increased levels of traffic near the local school will become more dangerous.
•The wildlife and green areas of our village will be destroyed – never to return.
•The houses are not affordable as promised.
•More housing will increase the intake at the school – the school will need room to grow.
•Why not build on brownfield sites already available and intergrate development within the grain of the village.

Can you help us?
We need money to fund a professional representative who will help us win our battle. We want the developers to lose their appeal, so the land around the school will be saved. We want the case for affordable housing in our village to be re-considered and given priority over more executive homes.
Our expert representative will be a professional Planning Consultant, who will examine the case details and represent the people of Milford on Sea at the court hearing from the 12th-14th Feb 2019.
We need to raise £3,000 to make this happen, give what you can, every penny helps and let’s show the developers that we are serious in fighting this appeal.

6 years agoThanks to all your donations so far we have been able to employ the planning consultant to representing us at the upcoming appeal in February. Please do come along to the Community Centre on 4th February @ 8pm to meet with our Planning Consultant who will be explaining more about the appeal process there will be a Q&A with him. The village has come together to enable us to employ him on our behalf and we want as many people there as possible so please do spread the word to friends &family of the meeting. A HUGE thanks from all the SLAM team.

Thank you for fighting this. The developments will cripple our village. There is not adequate services, eg school, medical centre or transport for large developments.

Well done for your efforts. Hope you are also considering the effect on wildlife. A substantial boundary around the edge, inside the site would do wonders. Also, solar panels every roof!

Milford-On Sea
SLAM is a group of local residents who want to preserve Milford-on-Sea for current and future generations. SLAM believes the affordable housing should be built on brownfield sites in the village and NOT on the Green Belt and which surround and define our beautiful village.
