Story

Rising costs have taken us over budget, please help if you can.

Shrewsbury Arts Trail Website Is back for its third year, the Shrewsbury Arts Trail 2023 has more exhibitions, more venues, more events than ever before and a sculpture trail that includes the work of the Spanish Surrealist, Salvador Dali and Midlands-based Jacob Chandler. This year’s theme is ‘Movement’, chosen to mark the 350 th anniversary of Shrewsbury born, John Weaver, the father of English ballet and pantomime.

Local artists’ work interpreting this theme will be exhibited at Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery, Theatre Severn and The Parade Shopping Centre. Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery will host a special exhibition of works by famous artists including Banksy, Damien Hirst, Barbara Hepworth, LS Lowry, Salvador Dali, Andrew Logan, Halima Cassell MBE and many more.

Submissions are open to regional artists until 1st June - https://forms.gle/AjMKhraGZr2LeKcj9

We have been working on the trail for over a year, in that time many things have happened globally and within the UK that has effected the cost of almost everything.

It is essential we have the contingency in the budget for any unexpected occurrences, especially as we are bringing 3 Salvador Dali bronzes to Shrewsbury, loaned by The Dali Universe. These sculptures have been displayed around the world including Rome, Florence and Paris. It will be the first time these sculptures will be displayed in the U.K bringing national and international press coverage;
