I've raised £2500 to raise money and awareness for Friends of Chalmers Hospital, Friends or Tar Lair and the Royal Signals Charity.

On the 15 Aug 2020 I will be attempting to complete the North East 250 tourist route in less than 15 hours.
This will be more than double the time I have ever spent on my bike in a single event, the most to date being 7 hours during the Jurassic Beast Sportive which took place in May 2018. So the enormity of this challenge has not escaped me and the level of support I have received so far will make all the difference. In particular, my friends & family and the Rotary Club of Banff.
My aim is to use the oppurtunity to raise funds and awareness for Friends of Chalmers Hospital , Friends of Tarlair and the Royal Signals Charity .
My target of £2,500 comes from the hope of raising £100 for every mile that I will be attempting to ride.
My current aspiration is to give 80% of donations to the local causes and 20% of donations to the Royal Signals Charity.
My normal type of event is Criterium racing, which is normally around an hour in duration and very intense. Basically like the last 30km of a Tour de France stage. This event will be particularly challenging as it is more than double any distance i have previously done! 🤢🤪🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂ The longest Ive ever spent in the saddle before is 7 hours when i did the Jurasic Beast 100mile sportive in Dorset, England.
The preparation for this event will involve route planning, nutrition preparation and plenty of training! 💪🚴♂️ Feel free to follow my progress on facebook, instagram, twitter and strava; my username on all of them is ScaleyBackCyclist.
On the day, if anyone would like to come out and support please feel free. Any morale boosts will be gratefully appreciated 😁👍 you will be abke to find me via live tracking on twitter 🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️
This page is still being updated so please bear with me while i prepare more photos and links to official charity websites.
