We provide families who have a child under 4 diagnosed with a life limiting condition with a Phoebe's Gift Box. A box filled with memory making activities and sensory objects.

Phoebe's Gift is in memory of Phoebe, our very special little girl who was tragically diagnosed with a rare genetic disease called Krabbe disease aged 11 months. There is no treatment and no cure for this disease, she was a terminally ill child. Phoebe passed away at Charlton Farm Hospice - Children’s Hospice South West, Bristol on 20th September 2020 aged 17 months. You can read more of her story here: www.phoebesgift.co.uk/about-us

Knowing time was precious, we knew that making memories with Phoebe was going to be very important to us. Unfortunately, we had the first covid-19 lockdown to deal with too. Sadly, we looked into different charities that supported and helped fund opportunities for children with terminal illnesses but unfortunately, they mostly only catered for children over 3 years old. With the stress of the situation we found ourselves, as parents and grandparents, having to find the energy to create these memories with little help was extremely tough.

This became our motto, focusing on the quality of her life and making the most of what we could. We want families to know that they are thought about and cared for in such difficult times, creating memories can be hard during the daily challenges of care but we have found that these memories are such a great comfort to us now.

In Phoebe’s memory and as parents, it was our overwhelming aim to help other families to create memories with their unwell child in the future. We felt this would help leave a legacy for our daughter and bring happiness to families in the darker days.

The boxes are being distributed through; Julia's House Hospice (Dorset), Children's Hospice South West and Bristol Children's Hospital (through the palliative care team). Please donate to help other families create lasting and priceless memories with their child. Each box costs £20 to produce.
