    Story

Nailsworth Climate Action Network (NailsworthCAN) is a local, not-for-profit community group established to raise awareness about the impact of global warming on us all and to carry out practical projects in our local area to enable the reduction of our carbon footprint.

More and more people are now aware that planting trees is a very effective way of helping to combat both climate change and biodiversity loss. Trees have a vital role to play. They absorb carbon, fight flooding, reduce pollution and support our wildlife.

In response to this, our volunteers plan to plant over 100 fruit and native trees in the King George V Playing Fields in Nailsworth. We aim to start on the 30th of November 2019 as part of the Woodland Trust Big Climate Fightback tree planting day.

While we have some funds already, we do need additional donations to help us meet the cost of buying the trees, tree supports, tree guards and tree maintenance.

Thank you for your support. Any donation from you is a positive step towards helping us all combat climate change and improve our local environment too.

In addition, if you would like a memorial tree, for a £200 donation, you will be able to choose your own memorial tree from our Tree Plan. The Tree plan will be available at Nailsworth Farmers' Market on 23rd November and again on 30th November at our tree planting in King George V Fields Nailsworth.
