Story
For almost a year I have had the pleasure of being the activity manager at Mossburn Community Farm for our group of adults and children with learning disabilities. They are the most wonderful group but we are very limited to what we can do due to lack of equipment and space. We need to raise funds for computers, printer, sensory equipment, art supplies, furniture, sports equipment, media equipment, mini bus hire and day trips that will enrich the lives of the people that come to the farm. Currently we can only run the group for one day of the week but hopefully, through funding we can open the centre for more days so that more people can enjoy what we have to offer.
At the centre we teach a variety of important life skills in order to prepare the group for independence. We learn fun and interesting topics, engage and encourage physical well being, promote self help, self worth and creativity through drama, music, art and media.
Myself and my partner Paul are embarking on an 84 mile, coast to coast, 5 day challenge to walk the length of Hadrian's Wall starting from Wallsend, northumbria to Bowness-On-Solway, Cumbria to raise funds for this fantastic and worthwhile cause.
Would anyone like to donate?
The dates: 30th March - Wallsend - Heddon-On-The-Wall (approx 15 miles)
31st March - Heddon-On-The-Wall - Chollerford (approx 15.5 miles)
1st April - Chollerford - Gilsland (approx 20 miles)
2nd April - Gilsland - Carlisle (19 miles)
3rd April - Carlisle - Bowness-On-Solway (14.5 miles)
Thank you, Sarah & Paul

6 years agoAmazing!!! Thank you to everyone who has donated. It would be even more amazing if we could get a few more donations before we finish. Just one example of what your money will go towards is, I have a young lady in my care who doesn't speak and only uses a few signs through makaton. We need a tablet/iPad so she can type what she wants to say for her own sole use as it's her only way of commutation. Without this, her world is a very frustrating one so it's my goal to make sure she gets what she needs. Thank you Sarah

Hello my name is Sarah and I have been working alongside a charity at Mossburn Community Farm, where I lead a group of extraordinary adults and children with learning disabilities. We are looking to raise funds to improve and extend our facilities.
