Story
New Quay Life Boat Station‘s new Shannon class lifeboat has arrived. The ‘Roy Barker V’ will make a big difference to response times. But £105,000 is still needed for crew training and equipment. Daniel Potter the Coxswain said ‘Volunteers go out to sea in horrendous weather, and training will make them much safer. Every penny helps protect them at sea.
We are a group of friends who have a few laughs, splash around in the sea and warm up around a fire on the beach. But now it’s got serious and we‘re beginning to wonder what we have got ourselves into. Our attempt to swim the English Channel is planned for June 2024. We‘ve funded our own safety boat and fees, so every penny raised will go directly to the New Quay crew.

We’ve signed up to swim the English Channel. We didn’t know there’d be tankers and jelly fish and floating vegetables. But we still think it’s worth it because every penny that you donate will go directly to our local lifeboat boat crew and that is kinda reassuring. Thank you!
