On Friday 1st September 2017 Gary Readman & Steve Maclure will be attempting to swim from Hartland Point to Lundy Island for 3 local causes in their home town of Bude. This route is an 11 mile minimum swim which has only ever been documented as having been successfully completed once, back in 1952.

COREY is just 3 years old & suffers from 2 genetic conditions which at their worst can give him 300+ seizures a day. He has made over 270 day visits to Bristol Childrens Hospital in his short life & we are raising money that will go towards an AED (Defibrillator) machine which will allow for home & hospice visits.

BEN is just 4 years old, he is fighting stage 4 Neuroblastoma Cancer. Over a 2 year period, he has had: 6 rounds of introduction chemotherapy, a stem cell transplant, a 10 hour operation to remove a tumour, high dose chemotherapy, been in intensive care, spent 35 days in isolation & had 6 months of immunotherapy treatment. Ben has been so brave through all of this treatment & is currently been in remission for 9 months. We are raising money to pay for his ongoing monthly hospital visits & to support him with the side effects that the treatment brings.

BUDE RUGBY CLUBS growing Minis & Junior section now has over 200 children aged from 4 to 16 years old. It is supported by 20+ volunteers. They meet every Sunday during the season, & train in the week. We are raising money for new equipment, tackle pads, playing shirts, training aids & to assist with tour funding.

All donations will be divided equally between the 3 Causes. The swim took place on Sept 1st. They successfully made landfall on Lundy & swam 16.25miles. It took 8hrs26mins "We are ELATED & EXHAUSTED to have completed this Challenge & are TRULY HUMBLED by all the support Thank you for donating to our 3 Causes from Gary & Steve".
