Story

Hi, My name is Tina,

I would like to tell you my story to see if you could help me.

I am a Cairn/Yorkshire terrier and I am blind with cataracts.

I think I am 9 years old but I don't know as I've never had a birthday.

This was how I used to look

Unfortunately, I didn't get a very good start in life as I was badly neglected, being kept in a rusty dirty cage all day long.

As time passed I started to waste away and get very weak, I was incredibly smelly and all my hair grew long and matted. My skin was weeping through constant scratching and my eyes started to get sore. I wasn't able to see much as the days went on, then one day I couldn't see anything at all. I was terrified , sad and very lonely, not being able to understand what was happening to me.

Just as I was about to give up, miraculously my prayers were answered and I was rescued along with some other dogs and gradually nursed back to health by some amazing people, for this I will always be thankful. I was still nervous, anxious and extremely scared but I felt that it was different and these people were looking after me. All I really wanted was a forever loving home of my own.

One day a woman came to see me and took me home; I was given lots of cuddles and love. She had a nice garden for me to play in and explore also some funny squeaky toys to play with. Overtime I started to trust this lady, I have a warm snuggly bed, lovely food and treats everyday, we go for nice calm walks and I even have a friendly brother to play with in the garden. I am starting to, at last, feel happy and not scared anymore, I trust this lady and love snuggling up on the bed at night. Thankfully, I have found my forever loving home. This is how I look now

Hi, I am Tina's new owner,

This amazing little, loving girl has come into my life and is very, very special. She has had a hard life, causing her to go blind through neglect. After a recent/check up consultation with an ophthalmologist, her eyes have developed in a very bad state through neglect in the past, she needs lifelong treatment, we have used everything we had for this little girl, so fundraising so she gets the quality of life she deseves for any operation she needs and treatment she needs.

Please help us to give her a very deserving second chance.

Tina's story can be seen on Channel 5, Tuesday 20th February @ 8pm, 21 Dog Rescue Special.
