On the 13th January 2022, due to a complication of TAPS we welcomed Leo and Luca into the world at just 29 weeks gestation. Both boys came out fighting and have continued to overcome multiple setbacks. Luca is now at home and a proud graduate of the Neonatal Intensive care Unit where his little brother Leo remains.

Leo has had to contend with multiple surgeries, blood transfusions and severe necrotising enterocolitis (NEC) leaving him with just 42cm of bowel remaining.

Without the outstanding care of the nurses, doctors, consultants and carers in the NICU, neither of the boys would be with us today! Alongside the 24 hour care from professionals we also have to acknowledge the life saving equipment that has been used to help the boys thrive and grow outside the womb.

Specialist life saving equipment is expensive... and as we know the NHS has struggled for funding for many years. So, as a HUGE THANK YOU on behalf of Leo and Luca, their family and friends and all sick babies who have required life saving care we want to raise money to purchase a specialist Incubator to donate the Leeds General Infirmary Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (LGI NICU).

We have chosen Crowdfunding so we can donate the money, on behalf of the boys in one lump sum to purchase the incubator. Anything raised above our target will be shared equally between the following charities:

NEC UK Registered Charity 1181026 and the TAPS Support Foundation.

so... a large group of Family, friends and co workers are taking on the YORKSHIRE 3 PEAKS CHALLENGE on SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 18TH 2022 In order to push our own limits (as Leo and Luca have and continue to do) to help raise these funds.

All FUNDS WILL BE DONATED... 100% TO THE CHARITIES MENTIONED ABOVE.
