    Story

On the 22nd of April 2023, I am organising a Charity Evening in memory of my sister Stacey.
I am doing this to raise money for 3 very worthy causes, which are close to my family’s heart. These are The Cystic Fibrosis Trust, The Royal Papworth Hospital, Cambridge and Ward 128 at The Royal Stoke Hospital, Stoke on Trent.
Stacey was born with Cystic Fibrosis which is an incurable degenerative lung disease. In April 2021 she was given the chance of a new lease of life with a double lung transplant thanks to The Royal Papworth Hospital.
12 months Stacey thrived and managed to do things that she thought she would never get or be able to do again.
Unfortunately, this was short lived as she started to deteriorate last year as infection and the Cystic Fibrosis gene took over again. She fought a hard battle with many overnight stays on ward 128 and at The Royal Papworth for well over 6 months, but it was not meant to be, and Stacey sadly passed away on the 28th of August aged 44 with her mum, dad, and husband at her side.
It is my hope to raise in the region of £5000 through the planned charity event which will then be divided between the 2 hospitals and 1 organisation.
Any generous donation, no matter how big or how small will be supporting the fantastic causes mentioned above.
The Cystic Fibrosis Trust fund vital research, improve care, speak out and race towards effective treatments for all to allow everyone with CF can live withithout limits.
The Royal Papworth plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care. Our support allows them to remain at the forefront of heart and lung medicine.
Ward 128 at The Royal Stoke hospital looked after my sister through her adult life and became her 2nd family. Let's make some serious money.

Stacey was the toughest person any of us knew. She lived her life to the fullest no matter what. She was determined not to be defined by Cystic Fibrosis.Overcoming all the odds, she made us proud. Unfortunately, after going through a double lung transplant, it was not meant to be.
