Pledge £10 or more, give us your address, and we will send you Bernie Bruen's 'Keep your Head Down" when its published in April 2019.
Will you help us publish this important piece of naval history and celebrate the bravery and dedication of a team of clearance divers at war? In the Falklands' War Commander Bernie Bruen and a handful of young men are called upon to confront the unimaginable dangers of making safe live ordnance in the freezing South Atlantic waters and in the guts of wounded ships. Toe-to-toe with lethal weaponry and with the fate of 100s of lives, the ships and the islanders in their hands, they stand to their duty and ‘volunteer’ their lives to save others. 'Keep Your Head Down' is Bernie Bruen’s story of those exceptional days. Drawing on his diaries and letters home and poetry written in the time between actions, it is a tragi-comical story of bravery and stoicism. As friends of Bernie’s we feel it our duty to see Keep Your Head Down reach the audience it deserves, but we need your help to do so. Will you pledge a minimum of £10 or more towards the cost of printing and distribution? You may choose to add £2.95 for postage and £7.50 for overseas postage.
