My name is Katie O'Callaghan, I am 15 years old and I live in Thatcham. I have committed to travel to Peru in the summer of 2019 with Camps International as a volunteer working on projects which will have a life changing impact on the local community. In the four weeks I will be there, I hope to help make a huge difference by getting involved in improving school facilities, building greenhouses (malnutrition is prevalent), improving sanitation, tourism development and environmental reforestation to address habitat destruction. I expect this will be a very challenging but rewarding experience.

As a volunteer, however, my first challenge is to raise enough funds to enable me to go to Peru and help these amazing and worthwhile projects.

In Peru there is a huge disparity between wealth and poverty with over 50% of rural communities living below the poverty line. Your donations will help change this.
