    Story

The Firth of Clyde Coastal Rowing Club is a self-funded community club based in Largs. Since the club was established in 2012 they have built 2 St Ayres skiffs which are used for social rowing and racing. Coastal rowing is a very accessible sport and open to all ages and abilities. It's a fantastic way to keep fit, meet new friends and have fun at the same time.
I've spent a number of years rowing in my garage on a Concept 2 Indoor rowing machine but decided recently to experience rowing on water. I was introduced to The Firth of Clyde Coastal Rowing Club and haven't looked back. The club made me so welcome from my very first contact with them. The sport is truly inclusive and there is something for everyone whether you want to get involved in boat maintenance, compete or just row socially. Raising some funds for the club seemed a natural thing to do when I decided to challenge myself to row a marathon distance on the indoor rowing machine. I will be attempting the marathon on 12th August, Clark Memorial Hall in Largs at the club's fundraising coffee morning.
For more information about the club you can find them on Facebook or visit their website www.firthofclydecoastalrowingclub.com

I made it! 42,195m later and I'm a bit sore but very happy to have achieved my goal. A huge thank you to everyone who has supported me practically, emotionally and with donations. The links for donations will be open for another month so if you'd like to donate now that I've completed the marathon, any amount you can spare will be very much appreciated. Thanks again to everyone your support has been overwhelming x

I started rowing on the Concept 2 Indoor rowing machine a few years ago as a way of getting fit. This year I set myself the personal challenge of rowing a marathon distance (42,195m)! I recently joined FOCCRS and want to support them by raising some funds for them while I row.
