I started as a volunteer at St Peter and St Paul primary in September 2021. From volunteering at forest school (building the willow shelter) I started to help out with breakfast club and it lead to afternoon clubs, gardening club, midday supervisor, chair of Foes and then when the caretaker job came up, it was a no brainer to take it.
From my time at the school I have realised that I really want to work in education and I am leaving the Primary School to train as a DT teacher from September.
As a fond farewell to the school, which I love, I would like to thank everyone for the great time I have had there by raising some money.
The money raised will go to FOES ( Friends of Eye School) to help make the school an even better place for the children.
I will leave a piece of my heart behind at this wonderful school.
I have never done anything like this before so I am joined on my walk by two of the teachers, Rachel Norton and Rachael Hilton, who hopefully will give me the support I need for this immense challenge.
