Story
We are stupidly, ridiculously, amazingly excited about a new project that has been inspired by Wessex Cancer Trust.
Basically, the inspiration comes from two places. Firstly, we want to do everything we possibly can to raise funds for Wessex Cancer Trust because they were an integral part of Emily’s recovery after cancer. They are amazing and rely on donations. Secondly, we want people who have experienced or are currently experiencing cancer to have something in their life that helps them to cope and process their thoughts during their experience. We want something that can offer them hope, courage and empowerment.
As someone who has experienced cancer Emily knows how lonely the journey can be, even if you are surrounded by family and friends. As a therapist, Charlie knows and has seen the importance of self-care and well-being during life’s ups and downs. Sometimes it is difficult to verbalise and process your feelings and emotions. Sometimes you don't want to share your feelings with other people, you just want to make sense of them. Sometimes you need someone who has been through it to tell you that how you're feeling is normal. You need hope, you need comfort, you need inspiration, you need encouragement. This is what this project is about.
Essentially, it's a journal for those who are experiencing cancer. Somewhere they can record, offload and process their thoughts. Not just that though. The journal will include messages of hope, empowerment and inspiration from real cancer warriors who have gone through similar experiences. There will be stories of hope, humour and honesty, as well as photos of these incredible warriors. There will be suggestions of things that can help with both physical and emotional wellbeing, as well as signposts to other services that could help.
We have a fantastic team working on this, including an amazing photographer, Rose Alex Morris who we know will bring creativity, honesty and humour to the project. We have big companies supporting the project too, including Wessex Cancer Trust, Southern Co-op, Q Wellness and Rose Alex Images.
So, how can you help?
By donating to our cause, you will be providing the ability to print and produce these amazing journals that will change the world page by page. Please join our enthusiasm and passion for this project by donating whatever you feel you are able to. You will be changing lives.
