Story

On April 23rd myself and Tom Sherrington who both serve in the RAF will be setting of from John O Groats and we will be looking at tackling the 828 mile endurance challenge by running on average 36 miles a day and arriving at Lands End 25 days (give or take a day or two) later on May 18th 2018.

We are wanting to raise £20 for every mile we will be running in aid to help raise money for three charities 1- RAF Benevolent Fund 40% 2- Mind - Mental Health 30% and 3- Jordan Brown 30%.

Jordan Brown is currently serving in RAF Regiment and has a Brain Tumour, having undergone a number of therapy sessions he stands a far greater chance of survival if he can go to Texas and have further treatment to help his situation. This we all know never comes cheap and he needs to raise in excess of £300,000. Having achieved a massive sum already with other volunteers who have helped to raise money, we are looking at doing our bit to help him out. Having served along side Jordan I know he is a fighter and a winner but also a great guy who deserve the help, so we couldn't think of a more epic challenge to hurt our bodies to help feel his pain.

Tom has chosen to raise money for the charity MIND which helps those suffering with Mental Health issues and are in need of help. This is something that both Tom and Myself have seen effect people serving in all Military roles whether that been the Air Force, Army or Navy. Life within the military and transformation to Civilian Life isn't easy.

And our chosen charity that we have both agreed to help raise money for is the RAF Benevolent Fund. this is a charity that is there to help personnel serving within the Air Force in all areas of difficulty they maybe suffering from.

Lets help all three charities by raising as much as we can, so please dig deep and remember the more you donate the more chance it gives us but more importantly others the chance of survival.

thank you for taking time to read this.

Gary and Tom.
