Story
James had been having simple symptoms of heartburn and back pain, he was given Peptac to treat suspected acid reflux for 5 weeks until he had an ultrasound and the results came back.
Then on the 10th of October 2019 James and Megan’s world was turned upside down when he got the worst news anyone could ever possibly receive; he was told he has terminal neuro endocrine tumours of the pancreas with metastatic spread to his liver. James's prognosis is bleak, he has been given weeks/months to live if his chemotherapy doesn't work and if chemotherapy does work it may only stall the cancer for 6 months to a year. James has started chemo with his first session on the 30th of October, continuing every 3 weeks having another 5 cycles to go.
Living with cancer brings stress from all fronts, from financial to emotional, physical and mental. Megan and James are carrying all of this whilst worrying at the same time what is in store for their wee family, including Brodie, 8 and Blake, 3.
When I opened Megan’s message, I could not believe what I was reading, my heart just broke for them, How do you even begin to deal with that diagnosis, but they are, the only way they know how, together💙💗 . Initially in conversation with Megan she mentioned alternative treatments they were looking into that would be expensive and we had planned to set up a funding page to help towards this. In view of James diagnosis now, we are setting up this fund raising page to allow their friends and family to donate something towards the precious time they have left together making memories with the kids. Megan and James are proud private people and don’t like to ask for help, but we said you're not asking from strangers, your letting friends and family help in a way they can in this difficult time when there is very little else we can do to help.
So I am asking you please, if you have a little spare cash, please consider gifting it to James and Megan so they can spend the time they have left as a family making memories with a little less worry in there hearts. James & Megan have said if the only thing that comes from people reading this heart breaking story is spreading the word off the symptoms that James was initially experiencing and helps one person then it was worth putting it up.
For a courageous and selfless family, who always put others first, let's help keep a light shining for them in the darkness.
Thankyou
Jac & Evie xx
