Story

This year sadly, we lost a friend, father, brother, son, teammate, captain, and all-round legend. In memory of Lee, we wanted to do something special, involving the whole football community and specifically the clubs that Lee spent all his footballing life.

Across this season, we are hoping to raise £10,000 for Lee’s 3 daughters and the Men’s mental health and suicide prevention charity Movember.

Across this season for every club Lee played at, me, my guide dog Ringo and Lee's mates will be running 10k around the outside of the stadium before one of their home matches.

Lee was a fantastic friend to me, and he touched so many people’s lives and I wanted to do something for his 3 beautiful daughters and his whole family to show how much of a special man he was.

Men’s mental health is also something that his family feel needs more support and hopefully we can help in a small way to support men who are currently struggling.

Our running will start around Lee’s hometown club AFC Telford United on the 18th of September and although Lee never played for the club, he was and remains loved by many across the town.

We will then be running around the Molineux before Wolves home game against Newcastle on the 2nd of October.

On the 6th of November we will be running around Edgar Street before Hereford’s home game against Kettering.

Also, in November on the 27th, we will be running around Vale Park for before Port Vale host Hartlepool.

Then on New Year’s Day potentially a bit hungover we will be running around the New Meadow before Shrewsbury’s game against Sheffield Wednesday.

On the 27th of January we will be running around Sixth fields where Northampton will be hosting another one of Lee’s former teams Forest Green Rovers.

Also, in January on the 29th of January we will be running around Field Mill before Mansfield take on Leyton Orient.

On Saturday 12th February we will be at Oakwell to watch Barnsley vs QPR

On the 6th of March we will then be running around the new Lawn before Forest Green take on Bradford.

Finally, our last run will be around Huish Park on the 7th of May before Lee’s last club Yeovil take on Boreham Wood.

In total we will have run 100km and hopefully raised lots of money for Lee’s daughters and Movember.

If you would like to meet us and either join in with the run or meet us for a drink to share favourite stories about Lee’s life, please feel free to get in touch. My phone number is 07866720467.

Anything you could donate we would all really appreciate, thanks a lot and hope to see you on our journey.
