I'm raising £1000 to support our local Mountain Rescue team and the Fire Fighters Charity

Organised by Ilkley Fire Station

Story

17 miles. Fire kit. Three peaks. One brutal day.

James and Adrian, firefighters from Ilkley, are taking on the Wharfedale Three Peaks Challenge at the end of June wearing their fire kit and breathing apparatus.

Navigating 17 miles over steep terrain is gruelling enough. Add 25kg of kit designed for entering burning buildings and you get some idea of what they're up against.

They're raising money for two great causes:

Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association - who undertake mountain rescue in our operational area and are fundraising for a new swift water sled. https://uwfra.org.uk

The Fire Fighters Charity — who support firefighters and their families through injury, illness, and the mental toll of the job. https://www.firefighterscharity.org.uk

Both these organisations rely entirely on public donations to operate.

Please do consider supporting them through this challenge.

If this has inspired you to have a go. You can sign up for the Wharfedale Three Peaks Challenge on 27 June here - https://www.sientries.co.uk/event.php?elid=Y&event_id=17182
