UPDATE!! 23/04/2021

7 HALF MARATHONS IN 7 CONSECUTIVE DAYS COMPLETE.

I'm delighted to announce that I finished my challenge within the school grounds this afternoon, and the reception I received from the children & staff was out of this world!!! The school and I have agreed that the money will be used to organise a fun/gala day for children of all year groups. We hope this will take place during the summer term.

UPDATE!! 29/03/2021

A HUGE thanks to everyone who has supported me so far, our target has now been increased to £2000 as a result of your extreme generosity. It would be amazing if we could reach our second target and beyond 🤞🏻

The running shoes are going on for a challenge that will see me ATTEMPT to run 7 half marathons in 7 days!!

Why you may ask? Well that's a good question, but a very simple one to answer.

The aim of this challenge is to raise funds that will be donated directly to Idle C of E Primary School.

We all know how tough the last 12 months have been on everybody involved within the school community, especially the children. As a parent of two Idle C of E children myself, I know how much they have missed the interaction with their friends during lockdown. Everyday things such as talking, laughing together and general play became off limits to most. For many this will have been a real struggle, so I cant express how pleased I am to see them back within their school surroundings and amongst their school family once again.

With full support from Idle C of E , I would like to give something back to each and every child within school in recognition of their bravery throughout the pandemic, and so ALL money raised will go towards something that the children will enjoy and benefit from directly. Nothing specific has been decided as yet, this depends on how much money we can raise between us. The school and I are open to ideas.

I appreciate that finances for many are under huge strain, therefore I would be grateful for any donations that you can offer no matter how small. If I can make a difference to one child, then I will consider my efforts a success.

Run No 1 will commence on Saturday 17th April, and should my ageing body survive the trauma of the previous 6 halves, the last run will finish on Friday 23rd April.

Thanks for reading, please feel free to share with friends and family outside the school community. Lets smash this target and give the kids a reward they truly deserve.
