Hope jones was born with a congenital heart defect called double outlet right ventricle and TGA and multiple VSD's. Shortly after birth she was then diagnosed with congenital CMV microcephaly and pyloric stenosis the latter she has surgery to repair at 4 weeks old which unfortunately didn't work and she had to be fed via an NJ tube throughout her life.

In Hopes short 7 months she had several strokes which left her with sight problems , reduced use of the left side of her body and seizures . the damage to the brain also caused her to be diagnosed with cerebral paulsey.

Hope started to deteriorate with her breathing which led to her having to have a pulmonary banding operation as she was pretty much constantly depended on vapotherm to aid her breathing unfortunately this was also unsuccessful and Hope's only chance of long term survival was a full heart repair which was expected to be done at some point in the early new year 2021.

Hope came down with pneumonia in October/November 2020 and fought it off like the fighter she was but unfortunately it came back again shortly after with a vengeance and Hope just couldn't fight anymore. She died peacefully in our arms on the 14th Dec 2020 in the picu unit at The Freemans Hospital Newcastle and was layed to rest on the 23rd of December 2020 in a small ceremony in her home town of Sunderland surrounded by loved ones.

We are hoping to set up this charity to keep her memory alive and to help parents in similar situations in our local area that have the financial burden of travelling daily to the hospital or staying over if from out of the area. Hope's passing has devastated us as a family beyond words but if we can manage to help or make things easier for even just one family then Hope wont of died in vain.
