Story

Hob Moor Oaks staff are raising money to go towards this year's Year 6 residential and the upkeep of some of the provisions offered in school.

A group of staff from Hob Moor Oaks have decided that walking the Yorkshire Three Peaks under 12 hours is a good idea. From having this idea we have dragged in willing victims to join us on our mission to raise as much money as possible to go towards our Year 6 residential and much needed upkeep of some of our fantastic school provision areas.

Unfortunately the last two years residentials did not go ahead due to the ever changing world that we are living in but we hope that this year we will be able to take our current Year 6 cohort on a trip that they will never forget. Lea Green is an amazing facility that offers our children the opportunity to take part in activities that they may not have done otherwise. A high ropes course, zip wire, stream walk, camp fire activities, sensory room, the biggest soft play you have ever seen and for many of our children, the first trip away from home without their families. Our wonderful children require a large team of adults to accompany them on this trip, including our experienced staff team and qualified activity leaders. A lot of hard work goes in to make this trip happen but it is all worth it to see what the children accomplish in 3 days.

In the past we have raised money from carol singing and bag packing at our local supermarket but COVID-19 has forced us to stay within our school building. Due to this the staff team are upping their game to complete this challenge and we would all appreciate any donation to keep our heads in the game!
